I hear your frustration Georgie, and I agree that Support Worker is a good title for a professional. For me the reason that I use the terms carer or caregiver is to recognise those unpaid family members/friends who do so much as well. I never had a Support Worker, but my partner James was there for me, and that is priceless.

It’s hard to tell isn’t it. The only way you can know is if someone was with when it happened.

Perhaps they meant to explain it’s a possible explanation for some things you have said that your family didn’t agree with? But with just one side of their story they shouldn’t have let your family believe it was the only possible reason. Sometimes odd things happen but if no one else witnesses if with you, others might think you have it wrong.
